The wave started in 2013. I'm still riding it.
How a book, a publisher, and a lightbulb moment became a Movement.

It's 2013. I'm a young meditation monk traveling mostly across Spain, at least one or two weekends a month, teaching meditation to beautiful humans like you and me.
The courses are life-altering. The techniques are so simple — but also the approach is so gentle, so non-judgmental that everyone in the room relaxes. In many cases, more than they remember ever relaxing in their whole lives.
Then something really interesting happens.
Some people take these techniques and totally uplevel their lives — becoming less reactive and more present, in their work, their relationships, with their kids or parents, with their own mind and sensitivity as well. Others stop practicing within days, and of course, having far less exciting results.
I don't know if you teach something to someone — I guess we all do. As a teacher, it was far more exciting to see my students glowing, their faces and gazes transformed, than to see the frustration of those saying "not much is happening for me."
That's when a seed of my first book started sprouting inside me.
I began noticing what the students with the best results had in common — and what my own attitude toward my practice had in common with theirs. Then one of my book mentors told me: "From now on, put 'Author of the upcoming book Happiness Is Easy' in your email signature."
I did it. And in a way, it worked. It made me believe in it. And it made me realize I was telling everyone — so now I needed to deliver.
[Is there something you really want to see in your life… But you keep procrastinating, because you have not found enough accountability yet?]
⸻
By 2016, the sprout was strong enough.
I pitched the book to a publisher. They said yes. I love when things feel right — like, oh, this is meant to be.
Then, just days after landing the publisher, I got an email inviting me to apply for a full scholarship to an entrepreneurship postgrad at Barcelona University. I applied. Two days later: "You have a full scholarship. You start in two weeks."
I went to my first class believing I was there to learn how to be a bestselling author. In the second class thou, something strange and very powerful happened that I am still living with today.
The professor said: "The fastest-growing, most influential organizations in the world are not authors nor books nor companies offering a message or a product. They are platforms connecting millions of people, serving each other."
A lightbulb went off in my brain — literally, like in the cartoons.
That's what the world needs. Not another book on happiness. The global platform for happiness.
In the next six months I dedicated myself to learning how to be a platform entrepreneur. I found a co-founder — another monk, an ex-Amazon developer. We built the first version, then another. We had some investment, some users. And what we kept discovering was that it requires inspiration, yes — but also dedication. And dedication. And dedication. And dedication. And back then, many millions were also needed to build something like this.
Now, with AI, not so many millions are needed. What's needed is clarity of idea, passion, and polishing that idea until it touches hearts and minds in a way that's inspiring enough that people cannot stop themselves from sharing it.
And that wave that started then — I am still riding it today. (I f**** love it!)
⸻
This year I'm giving birth to the updated version of Happiness Is Easy!
And almost every week, we ship an updated version of Hawimi.World — the kindness global platform. Because we believe happiness is a result, but kindness is an attitude. A choice. One that leads to more happiness for ourselves and others. Care and respect for ourselves and others.
What if kindness was always the answer? What if a more conscious world is always one choice away — and now also one click away?
⸻
I choose to keep riding this wave. I choose to keep polishing until it touches you.
With passion, kindness and fire,
Loto
